  • What’s a Roof Certification Letter, and Do You Need One?

    Insurance Tips

If your insurer just asked for a “roof certification” before they will renew your policy, here is what that actually means. A roof certification letter is a licensed roofer’s written report on your roof’s age, condition, and remaining life, usually good for 2 to 5 years.

Georgia insurers are leaning on these more every year, especially once a roof passes that 15 to 20 year mark, to decide whether to renew or how much to charge. The inspection looks at flashing, ventilation, granule loss, and soft spots in the decking, not just the age printed on the paperwork.

A well-maintained older roof can still pass certification. It is condition, not just age, that decides it.

We do these inspections and write the letter same week, and we will tell you straight whether a repair gets you certified or replacement is really the smarter move.
