Insurance Tips
If you’ve ever gotten a letter saying your insurer is dropping you over your roof, you know how little time 30 days actually is. As of this year, Georgia law extends that non-renewal notice to 60 days, a direct response to insurers non-renewing homeowners over roof age alone, even on roofs with plenty of life left.
Sixty days is better, but it’s still tight if the roof genuinely needs work. Don’t wait until week eight to make the call.
The moment that notice hits your mailbox, get a roofer out for an honest inspection, not a sales pitch, so you know whether repairs will satisfy the insurer or it’s time to replace the roof.
