Most folks think Georgia’s tornado season is a spring thing, but we actually get a real second wave in the fall, October through December, when cold fronts start colliding with warm Gulf air. I’ve worked plenty of claims from these fall systems, and the damage is just as legitimate as anything in March.
The catch is this damage rarely looks dramatic from the ground. A few lifted shingles, a bruised vent boot, granules piling up in your gutters after a windy night. Easy to miss, and easy for an adjuster to wave off if nobody documented it fast.
If a storm rolls through your area this fall, walk the yard afterward and check your gutters for granules or shingle pieces. If you see anything, call for a real inspection before you talk to your insurance company. I handle these claims from the first photo to the final check, and getting ahead of it is what protects your payout.
