Roofing Scams
After a storm rolls through metro Atlanta, you will start seeing trucks with out-of-state plates and guys knocking on doors saying they were "in the area" and noticed damage on your roof. Some of that is legit work. A lot of it is a storm chaser trying to sign you before you can think it over.
Real red flags: pressure to sign on the spot, a big deposit before any work starts, no local address or Georgia license they can show you, or an offer to waive your deductible, which is actually insurance fraud, not a discount.
If a roofer cannot give you a local address you could drive to today, do not sign anything until someone local looks at it.
We have fixed plenty of storm-chaser jobs after the fact. Happy to review a contract or a scope of work before you sign, no charge, insurance claim or not.
